One hundred twenty-three centimetres

On its column the Riga 2 stands 123 cm tall, 34 cm wide and 39 cm deep, for 14 kg. That height brings the BC17 coaxial to the ear of a seated listener, something a shelf manages only by accident of where it happens to be. Cabasse rates the assembly for floor use rather than for standing on furniture. The subwoofer visible in these pictures is a The Pearl, sold separately: what you order here is the stand and its speaker.

Placed clear of walls

On a stand the speaker goes where the acoustics want it rather than where a cabinet already stands: away from a partition, forward of a corner, spaced from its pair. The BC17 coaxial covers 95 to 20,000 Hz with an internal crossover at 1,600 Hz and returns 90 dB for 1 W at 1 m; below 95 Hz a subwoofer is needed. Two finishes are catalogued, matt black and oak, built in Cabasse's workshops in Brittany.
