The column is a blade of light oak, angled and set into a round base 40 cm wide. In a light interior, the wood reads as a piece of furniture rather than a technical accessory. The assembled speaker measures 128 x 40 x 42.4 cm and weighs 19 kg.
The TCA driver places midbass, midrange and treble on a single axis, as close as possible to a point source. Its diaphragms, made of aramid film with a honeycomb structure, are produced together by a Cabasse robot. The crossover operates at 740 and 3,500 Hz, for a frequency response of 75 to 25,000 Hz.
The 128 cm height brings the coaxial driver to the ear level of a seated listener, with no furniture or shelf needed. The data sheet states 91 dB at 1 W / 1 m, 8 ohms nominal and 3.5 ohms minimum. The amplifier must handle 250 W rated and 1210 W peak.
Cabasse pairs the Baltic 5 with its connected subwoofer The Pearl Sub, sold separately. The subwoofer adds the bass, the patented DEAP digital processing and access to streaming services. Together they form a connected 2.1 system.
