The column is an angled black blade set into a round base 40 cm wide. The sphere comes in black or white, and the base takes the colour of the speaker. All finishes are matt.
The TCA driver places midbass, midrange and treble on a single axis, as close as possible to a point source. Its midrange and bass diaphragms, made of aramid film with a honeycomb structure, are produced together by a Cabasse robot. The crossover operates at 740 and 3,500 Hz, for a frequency response of 75 to 25,000 Hz.
The two terminals sit in the base, at floor level, rather than on the back of the sphere. The cable therefore leaves from under the stand instead of crossing the room at eye level. The data sheet states 8 ohms nominal and 3.5 ohms minimum, with 250 W rated and 1210 W peak power.
Mounted on its column, the speaker measures 128 x 40 x 42.4 cm and weighs 19 kg. This height puts the coaxial driver at the ear level of a seated listener, with no furniture or shelf needed. Cabasse states a sensitivity of 91 dB at 1 W / 1 m and measures its speakers in an anechoic chamber over 360°, following its HDSE principle.
