The Murano Alto takes the BC13 coaxial of the Murano and pairs it with two 17 cm 17ND36 bass drivers instead of one. Sensitivity rises to 89 dB, rated power to 175 W and peak power to 1,200 W. Cabasse assembles it in its Plouzané workshops in Brittany.
The BC13 is the heart of the TC23 triaxial driver of the La Sphère and L'Océan reference systems. Tweeter and midrange share one axis, and an aluminium waveguide blends it with the bass drivers. The crossover cuts at 800 Hz and again at 3,500 Hz.
Three long curved ports reinforce the bass. One port plug per speaker, fitted or not depending on the room acoustics and placement, trades maximum bass level against the deepest extension. Cabasse gives a frequency response of 32 or 38 Hz to 24,000 Hz depending on this setting.
The column is 102.6 cm tall, 27.5 cm wide and 37.5 cm deep, and weighs 28 kg. Its nominal impedance is 8 ohms, with a minimum of 3.4 ohms. It comes in black lacquer, white lacquer and gloss mahogany.
