The Premium 801 introduces an SSD (Super Symmetric Drive) ribbon tweeter fitted with a horn, a first for PIEGA. The ribbon's moving mass weighs just 0.03 grams, for a very fast impulse response. The horn focuses the sound, lowers the crossover frequency to around 2.7 kHz and limits reflections.
Four 140 mm FSD-W woofers provide level stability and bass control. A 140 mm FSD-M midrange driver completes this three-way system with a linear, natural motion. The system reaches down to 32 Hz.
The cabinet is extruded from an aluminium profile under more than 5000 tonnes of pressure, a rare process in speaker building. The result is an extremely rigid, very low-resonance structure. Its clean lines allow placement close to walls without acoustic compromise.
The reference model of the Premium range, the 801 fits elegantly into any interior. Its 90 dB sensitivity and 4 ohm impedance suit amplifiers from 50 to 250 watts. It measures 116 x 21 x 31 cm for 39.6 kg, with a 35 cm diameter foot, in silver, black or white.
