The tweeter radiates as much backwards as forwards. Behind it, a Metamaterial disc pierced with channels of differing lengths traps that rear wave and dissipates it as heat: 99% of the high-frequency energy never returns to the cone. What is left is the signal.
A two-way centre speaker asks the same cone to carry the midrange and the bass, and voices thicken as soon as the soundtrack fills up. The R2 Meta separates them: Uni-Q for the treble and the midrange, two 130 mm cones for the bass alone. The crossover points fall at 560 Hz and 2.5 kHz.
No port: a centre speaker lives inside a cabinet, where a port blows against a panel a few centimetres away. The sealed enclosure does without one and leaves the bass to the subwoofer. The curve starts at 58 Hz at −6 dB, which crosses over cleanly with any subwoofer.
175 mm tall by 550 wide and 15.4 kg: the R2 Meta calls for a solid shelf under the television. Its nominal impedance is 4 Ω, with a 3.2 Ω minimum, and its sensitivity reaches 87 dB (2.83 V / 1 m). Three finishes follow the R floorstanding speakers: gloss black, gloss white, walnut.
