The CD Box RS2 Tube loads from the top under an aluminium cover plate, and a magnetic clamp holds the disc in place. Its gravity design places the central mass in the middle of the unit. It joins the top of the RS2 line and shares its full aluminium casework.
The SUOS DM-3381 Red Book drive is built around a robust, low-vibration mechanism that sharply reduces jitter and extraneous noise. It is controlled by the BlueTiger CD-88 servo and housed in a damped chassis. Every component is chosen for clean, stable playback over the long term.
It is the first CD player in the RS line with its own converter, a Texas Instruments PCM1796 in a differential configuration. This feeds a fully balanced output stage with two E88CC tubes, bringing the warmth and harmonic ease typical of valves. The signal leaves through RCA and balanced XLR, and two digital outputs, optical and coaxial, remain available.
The supplied aluminium remote control and the front buttons handle playback. The large LCD screen shows time, tracks and, when available on the disc, CD-Text with artist and title. The player measures 20.6 cm wide, 8.4 cm high and 20 cm deep, weighs 3.2 kg and comes in silver or black.
