The CD1 plays your discs with a slot-loading drive designed for CD only, where many players rely on a DVD drive. The disc goes straight into the front panel, with no tray. Its very compact size makes it easy to fit on a shelf next to the rest of the system.
The analogue RCA output is fed by an ESS ES9023 converter, with distortion below 0.007% (THD+N). The optical and coaxial outputs send the signal digitally to an amplifier or an external DAC. The player therefore connects to a classic system as easily as to a more recent one.
Its size and design were planned to sit alongside the Argon Audio SA1 MK2 and SA2 amplifiers. It also fits into an existing setup thanks to its three outputs. The CD1 comes in black and in white.
The front display has adjustable brightness and a temporary display mode. The supplied remote control handles playback, with repeat and shuffle modes. Auto standby can be switched off, and power draw falls below 0.5 W in standby.
