The C 589 relies on a premium disc loader and a precision laser pick-up. The tray responds quickly and the transport tracks reliably across a wide range of compact discs. Its rugged mechanical design keeps disc handling quiet and consistent, album after album.
At the heart of the conversion stage sits an ESS ES9039PRO DAC in a fully balanced implementation, for low noise, low distortion and wide dynamic range. The signal-to-noise ratio reaches at least 115 dB and harmonic distortion stays at no more than 0.005%. The analogue output keeps the clarity, tonal depth and fine detail of the recording.
NAD Dynamic Digital Headroom (DDH) limits inter-sample clipping and preserves dynamic range, for cleaner transients and a wider soundstage. It works alongside QRONO d2a, a time-domain filtering technology developed by MQA Labs that replaces conventional digital filters and keeps timing information intact. Stereo imaging and the sense of acoustic space gain in precision.
On the analogue side, the C 589 offers stereo RCA outputs at 2.2 V and balanced XLR outputs at 4.4 V. On the digital side, coaxial, optical and AES/EBU outputs connect it to a high-end DAC or processor. At 43.5 cm wide, it fits a new system as easily as an existing one.
