The C 569 uses a proven tray-loading mechanism driven by an NXP servo system that handles disc reading, spindle speed, laser focus and tracking. The transport, power supply and signal circuits are laid out to limit their interaction with the analogue stage. Nuance and dynamics in the recording therefore reach the amplifier less degraded.
Digital-to-analogue conversion relies on an ESS ES9039Q2M DAC, backed by LMG's QRONO d2a technology, which preserves timing and fine detail. NAD Dynamic Digital Headroom (DDH) reduces the distortion caused by inter-sample clipping, keeping attacks and peaks clean. The stereo analogue output stage is rated at a signal-to-noise ratio of at least 110 dB and harmonic distortion of no more than 0.006%.
The front-panel display reads CD-Text information and shows the current album and track. The playback buttons sit below the screen, and the supplied remote control operates the player from the armchair. Pick a disc, leaf through the booklet, and the player stays out of the way while you listen.
The stereo RCA outputs deliver 2.2 V to an amplifier or preamplifier, while the coaxial and optical outputs turn the C 569 into a transport for an external DAC. At 43.5 cm wide and 8.3 cm high, it lines up with the other components of NAD's Classic Series. In standby, it draws less than 0.5 W.
