The DM15 R2R measures 144 x 137 x 25.5 mm for 471.5 g, in an all-aluminium chassis closed by a tempered glass lid and front panel. A 0.96-inch LCD shows playback, and an infrared remote comes with the unit. The disc-alignment mechanism uses a self-rebounding steel ball.
Conversion rests on a fully differential four-channel 24-bit R2R network developed by FiiO. It lines up 192 thin-film resistors, forty-eight per channel, rated at 0.1 % accuracy and 30 ppm thermal drift. A GD32F305RET6 handles control, backed by two SGM8262.
The 3.5 mm socket serves as headphone output and the 4.4 mm as balanced output; two line outputs mirror them, and the coaxial and optical outputs share the LO socket. In desktop mode the balanced output delivers 1150 mW per channel into 32 ohms. Over USB DAC the player accepts up to 384 kHz/32-bit and native DSD256.
Three modes coexist: disc playback, USB converter and Bluetooth 5.4 transmitter over SBC, aptX, aptX HD, aptX LL and aptX Adaptive. Ripping copies a CD to external storage in WAV while you listen. The 4700 mAh battery is rated for seven hours of CD playback and eleven hours in USB mode, for about two hours of PD 3.0 charging.
