CD playback and ripping

The RSA780E adds a CD drive to the HiFi ROSE RS150, RS250 and RS201 streamers, connected with a USB A-B cable. It plays discs and rips them to the streamer's storage from the ROSE app, in FLAC, compressed FLAC or WAV. Cover art and album details appear on screen and can be edited before saving.

USB isolation

A USB isolator separates the drive electrically from the streamer, so only the music data travels down the cable, without the electrical noise. The rear port is USB-B, compatible with audio-grade USB A-B cables. Power demand is limited to 5 V and 1.5 A.

A 900 g casing

The 15.2 x 15.2 x 2.5 cm casing weighs 900 g, a mass chosen so the disc does not vibrate during playback. Internal insulators damp the movements of the mechanism and cut the noise it makes while spinning.
