Universal 4K UHD playback

The Magnetar UDP800 MKII plays all common physical discs: UHD Blu-ray, Blu-ray, Blu-ray 3D, DVD-Video, DVD-Audio, SACD and CD, plus recordable media. It supports HDR10+ and Dolby Atmos for 4K picture and quality sound. Its USB 3.0 system, with a dedicated hub and isolated power, ensures stable file playback from sticks and hard drives.

Redesigned 2.0 audio stage

The 2.0 audio stage was redesigned around seven OPA1602 operational amplifiers, whose low noise reduces distortion for clearer sound. The stereo output has an independent stage on balanced XLR and RCA. The optical and coaxial outputs accept up to 2 channels of PCM 192 kHz, plus Dolby Digital and DTS. Signal-to-noise reaches 120 dB with distortion below 0.01%.

Reinforced connections and TMDS

The unit uses high-quality copper wiring and internal JST and Amphenol connectors to make links more reliable. The HDMI audio port gains a TMDS retiming function that compensates for random jitter and improves signal quality for richer sound detail. The redesigned USB 3.0 system increases compatibility and transfer speed with storage devices.

Roon Ready and home automation

The UDP800 MKII is Roon Ready: it connects to Roon automatically for bit-for-bit playback over a flexible, reliable audio network, with no configuration. It supports Control4 and Crestron home-automation systems for integration into centrally controlled installations. The player measures 430 x 300 x 90 mm, weighs 6.8 kg and runs on 100-240 V mains.
