This limited-edition turntable comes from a collaboration between Pro-Ject and Universal Music around George Harrison. The artwork, created by Studio Number One from a piece by street artist Shepard Fairey for the Harrison family, combines his portrait with Indian patterns. The series is limited to 2,500 units worldwide.
The one-piece 8.6-inch aluminium arm turns on sapphire bearings. It is fitted with a pre-mounted Ortofon OM10 cartridge with a lively, relaxed sound. The semi-balanced Connect it E phono cable with gold-plated RCA connectors is included.
The synchronous motor drives the platter through a silicone belt and a diamond-cut aluminium pulley. Its built-in DC-powered control reduces motor vibration and stabilises speed. The low-tolerance platter bearing uses a stainless steel spindle.
Beneath the 300 mm acrylic platter, an analogue mixing console drawn on the plinth shows through. The MDF plinth resists resonance and stands on decoupling feet. The turntable is based on the Essential III, and the dust cover is included.
