The DHT-S316's subwoofer connects to the bar wirelessly. It only needs a mains socket and can go anywhere in the room, behind a sofa or next to the TV unit. At 170 × 312 × 340 mm and 5.2 kg, it has the air volume the bar lacks.
At 55 mm tall, the bar slips in front of a TV stand without blocking the bottom of the screen. It is 900 mm long and weighs 1.8 kg. Keyhole slots let you mount it on the wall.
The decoder handles Dolby Digital and DTS soundtracks from films and TV programmes. Three modes, dialogue, music and movie, adjust the sound, and night mode narrows volume swings in the evening. Two midrange drivers and tweeters share the bar.
A supplied HDMI ARC cable links the bar to the TV, and CEC control lets the TV remote adjust the volume. The optical input serves TVs without HDMI ARC, and the 3.5 mm mini-jack an analogue source. Bluetooth receives music from a phone.
