The Home Sound Bar 550 decodes Dolby Atmos and DTS:X tracks from the TV and HDMI sources. Nine drivers share the work: two 19 mm tweeters, four 55 mm full-range drivers and three 50 × 90 mm passive radiators.
The bar measures 650 mm wide, 75 mm high and 120 mm deep, and weighs 3.5 kg. A wall-mounting template comes in the box. The front panel has a proximity-sensing display.
A 4K HDMI input and output, the output with eARC, connect the TV and an HDMI source. The optical input, 3.5 mm auxiliary input and USB port complete the connections. HDMI cable, optical cable and remote control are supplied. One cable, one plug, one app: setup takes a few minutes.
The HEOS platform gives access to Spotify, Amazon Music HD, TIDAL, Deezer and TuneIn. The bar plays FLAC, WAV and ALAC files up to 24-bit/192 kHz and DSD up to 5.6 MHz. AirPlay 2, Bluetooth, dual-band Wi-Fi and an RJ-45 Ethernet port cover the network connections. It syncs with other Denon Home products to play the same music in several rooms.
