The larger Planar

The Planar PL-2 applies the PL-1 principle on a bigger scale: mounted on the wall or placed close to it, it uses the wall to reinforce its bass. The cabinet measures 65 cm wide, 48 cm high and 14.4 cm deep, for 20.25 kg. It is aimed at large rooms and open-plan spaces.

20.5 cm flat-piston driver

The 20.5 cm flat-piston active driver, derived from REL's in-wall subwoofer work, offers long excursion. A 550 W amplifier drives it, and REL quotes extension down to 24 Hz. Its flat piston makes the bass hard to locate in the room.

25 cm passive radiator

At the rear, a 25 cm passive radiator works with the driver's back wave and couples to the wall to reach deeper. The amplifier module groups the Speakon high-level input, .1/LFE and low-level RCA inputs, and the choice between auto standby and always on. The wireless receiver is built in, while the AirShip Direct transmitter is ordered separately.

Wall or cart

Supplied with wall-mounting hardware and a cloth grille, the PL-2 can also stand on the optional Planar Cart, making it easy to try several positions. The wooden Premium Wood grille is available as an option too. It comes in black or white gloss lacquer and is sold individually.
