The woofer is not mounted on the front but vertically, and radiates towards the floor over 360°. Cabasse sees three effects: spurious noise is filtered, internal standing waves are reduced, and the distance from the walls becomes less critical. The subwoofer can therefore sit close to a wall or a piece of furniture.
The 25 cm 25S20 woofer uses a cellulose fibre based cone, light and well damped. It handles high sound pressure without deforming and gives bass that is both full and fast. The built-in amplifier delivers 200 W rated and 400 W peak, for a frequency response of 30 to 160 Hz.
Cabasse sizes it for a home cinema in a room of up to 50 m², with a maximum impulse pressure of 111 dB. The upper cut-off is adjustable from 40 to 180 Hz. An RCA input and stereo high-level inputs and outputs connect it to an AV receiver as well as to a stereo amplifier.
The 42 x 36 x 38 cm cabinet, weighing 17 kg, has a matt black or white paint finish. Two brushed aluminium rings circle it, a design Cabasse matched to the Eole 4 and iO3 satellites restyled in 2020.
