Sealed enclosure

A port lets the bass trail behind the signal. The Kube 8 MIE does without one: the driver works inside a sealed cabinet, the trapped air acts as a spring and pulls it back into position as soon as the signal stops. Output stops at 34 Hz at −6 dB, a touch higher than a bass-reflex model of the same size, but every bass note starts and ends when the score says so.

200 mm driver

The 200 mm (8-inch) cone is driven by a 300 W RMS Class D amplifier, which keeps it under control up to a maximum output of 105 dB. That headroom matters less for loudness than for what happens below it: at normal listening levels, the amplifier never strains.

Music Integrity Engine

A subwoofer in a corner resonates even more, one in the middle of a wall disappears. The Kube 8 MIE's MIE processor corrects for what the room adds: three placement settings (furniture, wall, corner), a low-pass filter adjustable from 40 to 140 Hz and an LFE mode, all accessible from the rear panel.

Connections and dimensions

Two RCA line inputs and one speaker-level input cover both the built-in amp and a home-cinema processor. An extension connector accepts the KW1 wireless kit, sold separately, when running a cable to the subwoofer isn't practical. The cabinet measures 293 × 293 × 310 mm for 9.4 kg — small enough to slide under a desk or against a low cabinet.
