The RS1200 uses three 0.69-inch D-ILA devices, one per primary colour, with a native resolution of 4096 x 2160. There is no colour wheel and no sequential display. Native contrast reaches 40,000:1, measured without a dynamic iris, and gamma is processed in 12 bits.
The BLU-Escent laser diode delivers 2000 ANSI lumens and JVC quotes 20,000 hours in standard mode. No lamp needs replacing and brightness does not drift over time. Dynamic light source control adapts output scene by scene, for 280 watts in operation.
Both HDMI inputs accept 32 Gbps with HDCP 2.3 and a 4K60p signal. HDR10, HDR10+ and HLG are supported, together with Frame Adapt HDR, which adapts the tone curve frame by frame. An RJ45 network socket, a USB update port and Control4 SDDP compatibility complete the set.
The 80 mm lens combines 15 elements in 11 groups, with motorised zoom, focus and shift. The throw ratio runs from 1.24 to 2.04:1 for diagonals of 60 to 200 inches, with 28 percent horizontal and 70 percent vertical shift. Five installation positions can be stored.
