The CS 2.3 combines an amplifier, a CD player and a network streamer in a frame of 34 centimeters wide. The power stage delivers 2 x 140 watts under 4 ohms, measured at 1% distortion. The signal / noise ratio exceeds 95 dB and the bandwidth covers less than 5 Hz to more than 80 kHz.
The TEAC mechanics loads the discs by a slot, without drawer. It reads audio CDs and engraved CD-Rs at the RED Book standard, from 20 Hz to 20 kHz. The conversion returns to a 9038 Q2M Saber Saber, which rises to DSD256 and PCM 384 KHz / 32 bits.
Brushed aluminum comes in black or silver, and the Cellini version receives a chrome facade. The housing shows no screws. The graphic screen is set in brightness and lights up at the approach of the hand, its keys being sensitive.
The phono input switches between movable magnet and mobile coil, with 40 dB and 60 dB gain and a dedicated charging. An HDMI ARC entry retrieves the TV sound in 192 kHz / 24-bit, supplemented by two inputs and two digital, coaxial and optical outputs. The network goes through the Ethernet or the bi-tape wi-fi, with two antennas.
