The TD 201 runs manually, a DC motor driving the platter through an internal belt. The aluminium platter carries a damping ring that absorbs resonances. Speeds of 33 and 45 rpm are switched electronically from the front.

The TP 71 arm arrives with its Audio-Technica AT 3600 cartridge already fitted and aligned. Its headshell is removable, which leaves the option of changing transducer later. Anti-skating is set beside the arm base.

The rear terminal gathers the RCA outputs and the switch for the built-in MM phono stage. Switched on, it lets the deck connect to a plain line input; switched off, it hands over to the amplifier's phono input. The external 12 V supply keeps the mains section away from the motor.
