Float glass platter

The Planar 6 platter stacks two layers of float glass, one smoked and one clear. A low-noise 24 V motor turns it through an EBLT Reference drive belt. The turntable measures 447 x 120 x 360 mm with the dust cover closed, for 5.2 kg.

Dedicated Neo PSU supply

The Planar 6 is supplied with its Neo PSU external power supply, matched to the turntable. Connection is made by a mini DIN socket at the rear of the plinth. The case takes up 180 x 50 x 155 mm on the rack.

Moving coil generator

The Ania is built on a miniature iron cross and on one of the smallest moving coil generators on the market. Its coils are wound in fine 0.018 mm wire and work against high-power neodymium magnets. Nominal output voltage reaches 350 µV for an output impedance of 10 Ω.

Tracking force and loading

The elliptical profile diamond is carried by an aluminium cantilever. Tracking force is set between 1.75 and 2.00 g. The phono stage should present 100 Ω of loading and 1000 pF of capacitance, with gain on the high setting on Rega phono stages. The cartridge is supplied with the turntable, without being pre-fitted.
