The TT-3 follows a simple idea: keep only what matters for the sound. Its MDF plinth holds a 560 g aluminium platter, belt-driven and running on a ball bearing. A dust cover is supplied, and the turntable comes in matte black, matte white and ash.
The turntable arrives with an Ortofon OM5e moving magnet cartridge already installed. Recommended tracking force is 1.75 g, and the arm accepts cartridges from 4.9 to 8.4 g. The stylus can be upgraded later, with Argon Audio listing the Stylus 10, 20, 30 and 40 replacements compatible with the OM 5E.
The very light aluminium tonearm has an effective length of 8.8 inches and an effective mass of 21.7 g, with a detachable headshell. A single rotary knob switches between 33 and 45 rpm. Speed variation stays within ±2%, and wow and flutter does not exceed 0.06%.
The TT-3 has no built-in RIAA phono preamplifier. It connects to the PHONO input of an amplifier or active speakers, or goes through an external phono stage. A 1.0 m RCA cable and a power supply with a 1.5 m lead are included, and the stated signal-to-noise ratio is 67 dB.
