

The KA13 pairs two Cirrus Logic CS43131 chips to decode PCM files up to 384 kHz/32-bit as well as DSD256. Each channel has its own conversion stage, which preserves stereo separation. The compact format plugs straight into a smartphone or a computer over USB-C.

Two sockets sit side by side: a 3.5 mm single-ended output, shared with the SPDIF output, and a 4.4 mm balanced output. In desktop mode, the balanced output delivers up to 550 mW + 550 mW into 32 Ω. That is enough to drive in-ear monitors as well as more demanding headphones.

A switch engages desktop mode, which raises the output power when the KA13 is fed by an external source. Power rises from 50 to 170 mW into 32 Ω on the 3.5 mm output, and climbs further on the balanced output. Supported impedance goes up to 300 Ω in balanced mode.

An RGB light ring indicates the sampling rate of the stream being played. The aluminium alloy chassis measures 56.5 mm long for 19 g, and carries two physical buttons for volume and track change. The FiiO Control app is used to adjust the settings and update the firmware.
