The Unico 150 was designed to both audiophile and scientific criteria, and uses only three stages. The first two are valve stages in pure Class A: an ECC83 double triode totem pole at the input, then a 6H30 double triode totem pole as the driver. The circuit does without global feedback, with 16 dB of local feedback.
The rear panel gathers six line inputs: three unbalanced, two balanced XLR and one unbalanced bypass input. A tape output and a volume-controlled subwoofer output are added, along with 4 + 4 binding posts for speaker bi-wiring. Output resistance, below 0.4 Ω, stays resistive across all audio frequencies.
The thermostable Class AB power stage relies on eight complementary Hexfet transistors, four pairs per channel. It delivers 150 W per channel into 8 Ω, for a power consumption of 550 W at full power. The chassis measures 43.5 x 18 x 44 cm and weighs 25 kg. The valves are covered for 3 months, the unit for 2 years.
