All-in-one network source

The S15 is the first full-width network streamer from FiiO. Media player, network player, local playback, preamplifier and digital jukebox gathered in a single unit, it fits into a living-room system thanks to its standard 430 mm format. Its all-metal chassis of nearly 5.6 kg and its non-slip feet limit the vibrations that degrade the sound.

Network, streaming and Roon

Running Android 12 with a dedicated landscape interface, the S15 installs its streaming apps freely. It is Roon Ready and AirPlay, handles DLNA and Bluetooth reception, and plays music from a NAS or a server over UPnP, SMB and WebDAV. Local playback accepts microSD cards, USB sticks and M.2 drives up to 2 TB.

AKM DAC and femtosecond oscillators

The S15 takes up the flagship AKM AK4191 + AK4499EX DAC pairing, with full separation of the digital and analogue sections. Two ACCUSILICON very low phase noise oscillators and XMOS XU316 USB decoding deliver high precision: up to 768 kHz/32-bit and DSD512 over USB, full MQA decoding and a 10-band parametric equaliser.

Connections and control

The balanced architecture feeds balanced XLR3 and RCA line outputs, alongside optical, coaxial and AES inputs and outputs, plus an HDMI input and output with ARC. A 35 W linear power supply, a 7.84-inch screen and a supplied Bluetooth remote control round out this living-room streamer.
