The chassis stacks two layers of MDF bonded by an adhesive that stays elastic: the Constrained Layer Damping principle. This sandwich turns vibration energy into heat instead of letting it travel up to the cartridge. Spring-loaded feet, developed for this model, steady the base.
The statically balanced J-shaped tonearm is damped inside its tube and mounted on a reinforced aluminium plate. Adjustable height, thread-and-weight anti-skating and the supplied alignment template make a cartridge swap a matter of a few steps. The SME-mount headshell has overhang markings, and the counterweight balances a wide range of cartridges.
The Ortofon 2M Red cartridge with elliptical stylus arrives fitted and adjusted at the factory. The tonearm cable stays below 100 pF, and the thick, heavy cast aluminium platter turns on a Delrin bearing with a custom rubber-felt mat. A sensor tracks platter speed and the DC motor control corrects it continuously.
The PLATINUM Signature does without Bluetooth, a tonearm lift, an end-of-side stop and a phono stage. The signal leaves exactly as the stylus reads it, through gold-plated RCA sockets, so the amplifier needs a phono input. Part of the Signature Line developed with Karl-Heinz Fink, the turntable measures about 423 x 129 x 356 mm and weighs 6.94 kg.
