Amplification falls to a Texas Instruments TPA3255, paired with a feedback loop taken after the output filter. The circuit board runs to six layers of thick copper with an immersion gold finish. The capacitors are German WIMA plus Japanese Nichicon and ELNA.
Into 4 ohms at under 1 % distortion the output delivers 240 watts per channel; 135 watts per channel into 8 ohms. Those measurements are taken on a 53 volt supply. The 48 volt, 5 amp supply shipped with the unit caps the available power below those figures.
The unit accepts an RCA line input, a coaxial input up to 192 kHz at 24-bit, a USB-C input up to 96 kHz at 24-bit and Bluetooth 6.0 over SBC and LDAC. A knob selects the source and changes colour with the mode. Bass and treble adjust from minus ten to plus ten.
The chassis measures 181 x 133 x 36 mm excluding feet and weighs 676 grams, in metal paired with wood: walnut on the black version, maple on the silver. A subwoofer output and an RCA line output let you add a sub or drive another amplifier. The parametric equaliser is set from the FiiO Control app, on the digital inputs.
