MOON 461 stereo power amplifier from the Compass Collection. It delivers 150 watts per channel into 8 ohms and switches to bridged mono or bi-amplification.

The 461 delivers 150 watts per channel into 8 ohms and 300 watts per channel into 4 ohms. In bridged mono, it carries 450 watts on a single channel. Its damping factor of 425 lets it hold low-impedance speakers without losing grip on the bass.
The MDCA architecture, developed for the North Collection, lowers distortion and improves the linearity of the signal. The 461 works without global feedback and uses MOON output transistors. Total harmonic distortion plus noise stays at 0.003 % at 150 watts and 0.005 % at 1 watt.
Two MOON Hybrid Power supply modules equip the unit, one per channel. This dual mono construction separates the channels right down to the power supply and limits their influence on each other. Crosstalk falls to -114 dB and the signal-to-noise ratio reaches 114 dB.
A selector on the rear panel switches between stereo, bridged mono and mono bi-amplification. The bi-amplification mode feeds the bass and treble sections of a speaker separately. The MOONLink connection on a double Ethernet port ties the unit to the rest of the system, and the bead-blasted aluminium cheeks come in black or silver.
