The Clear comes as a pair with a blue jacket, terminated with RCA plugs. Cardas describes it as fully neutral and transparent, with first-rate dynamics, treble extension and speed. It draws out every detail of the recording without losing musicality.
This second view shows the inscription Clear Interconnect Rev 1 printed on the cable. The maker intends this version for reference systems, set up in rooms with neutral acoustics. It says the cable is at ease on short and long runs alike.
For RCA, Cardas terminates the Clear with the SRCA plug, shown here in an interior view with its spring. The cable it takes has three 25.5 AWG conductors in an equilateral triad, around Matched Propagation Kevlar cores. Their ultra-fine Grade 1 copper strands, from 41 to 39 AWG, are insulated with ultra-thin extruded PTFE.
The balanced version takes CG XLR plugs, in gold and silver-coloured brass in the official photo. They terminate a cable 11.43 mm in diameter under a very supple TPR jacket. Inside, PTFE tubes 1.618 times wider than those of the core keep the composite shield of tin-plated copper and enamelled wire at a distance.
