Parsec, dark green jacket

The Parsec comes as a pair with a dark green jacket, shown here terminated with gold-plated RCA plugs. Cardas makes it the favourite of its range for value and compares it with cables twice the price. Its balance is neutral, with a little warmth in the upper range, and extended bass and treble.

Gold-plated GRMO plugs

According to the model page, the Parsec's RCA plugs are Cardas GRMO. The official photo shows their gold-plated body and knurled ring. They terminate a cable 9.14 mm in diameter, under an outer jacket of Alcryn rubber.

Braided Kevlar core

The interior view of the GRMO plug reveals its internal parts. The cable that ends there has two 23.5 AWG conductors, wound around a Kevlar core in braided cross-field geometry. Polyethylene air tubes hold the tin-plated copper braid that shields them away from the conductors.

The balanced Parsec is terminated with Cardas CE XLR plugs, now its standard XLR termination. Here are these plugs, male and female side. In the RCA version, the pair is fitted with the Cardas GRMO plug.
