The Iridium Power completes the Iridium series and brings, at a more accessible price, the shielding, PFA tape and toroidal filter of Cardas' higher-end power cables. Two 11.5 AWG Cross-field Litz conductors in Grade 1 copper, 99.9999% pure, are twisted into a pair. A double shield and a very flexible Alcryn jacket bring the diameter to 10.1 mm.
The cable is terminated with Cardas 3455R plugs, soldered and crimped. Their shell closes in two parts around the cable and clamps it with screws, for diameters from 10 to 18.5 mm.
The 3455R exists in a 15 A IEC version, the plug that connects to the inlet of the component. Cardas does not offer it in 20 A.
On the wall side, the 3455R plug uses the same shell and solid copper contacts plated with silver and rhodium. The cable stays light and flexible. Its capacity is enough for almost any electronics, from a sensitive digital source to a power amplifier.
