The Parsec Digital links the coaxial S/PDIF output of a transport, streamer or CD player to the input of a DAC. Its coaxial geometry maintains a 75-ohm impedance, in an outer diameter of 8.76 mm. Cardas presents it as perhaps the best value of its digital cables: light, flexible, detailed, smooth and musical.
The Parsec Digital is fitted as standard with Cardas GRMO RCA plugs. A version with BNC plugs serves equipment with that type of socket. The choice depends on the connections of the transport and the DAC.
The 20.5 AWG centre conductor runs into the GRMO plug: a Litz of Grade 1 oxygen-free copper, 99.9999% pure. Each strand is coated with SPN enamel, and the cross-sections follow golden-ratio proportions. Around it, polyurethane air tubes held in an FEP tape keep the spiral shield of aluminised polyester and tinned copper away from the conductor.
