The iO3 fits in one hand: 20.6 cm tall, 16 cm wide, 1.8 kg. Its spherical shape is not a styling choice but an acoustic answer, the one that removes the edges from which stray waves set off again. Cabasse designed it to disappear into a room where nobody wants to see loudspeakers. The spherical subwoofer visible in the first picture is a The Pearl Sub, sold separately.
A 13 cm Duocell cone carries a 2.7 cm Kaladex dome at its centre. Both radiate from the same point, which gives a stereo image that does not shift when you change armchair. The crossover sits at 2,700 Hz and the frequency response runs from 150 to 22,000 Hz.
That sensitivity, high for so small a volume, means modest amplification is enough. Nominal impedance is 8 ohms, with a 3.8 ohm minimum. The iO3 takes 80 W continuous and 580 W peak, enough to hold its place in a full home cinema system.
The product ships with both mountings: the base that sits on a piece of furniture and the bracket that screws to the wall. The column stand is ordered separately. This version comes in black lacquer and white lacquer, sold individually.
