Treble goes to an Air Motion Transformer with a neodymium motor, mounted in a waveguide, with roughly 85 cm² of diaphragm. The front baffle slopes backwards and places this tweeter behind the bass driver. That offset lines up the arrival of both ways, which the crossover splits at 2800 Hz.
The 5.25-inch mid-bass driver sits in a die-cast basket. Loaded as a bass reflex, it reaches down to 45 Hz at -6 dB, while the treble extends to 32 kHz. The HDF cabinet with internal bracing has no parallel walls apart from its sides, which cuts down standing waves.
Each speaker is 18 cm wide and about 33 cm tall. At close to 7 kg, it fits on a shelf or low cabinet without overhanging. The hand-sanded wooden cabinet gets a matt lacquer, rounded corners and aluminium details.
Nominal impedance is 4 Ω, and Sonoro advises an amplifier of at least 50 W. Screw terminals clamp the speaker cable firmly. The maker pairs these speakers with its Maestro receiver for a complete system in a small or medium-sized room. A magnetically held fabric grille hides the drivers when wanted.
