The 25 mm tweeter pairs an aluminium, magnesium and ceramic dome with an OSW waveguide. The waveguide focuses the treble on the listening area and reduces reflections from nearby walls. A perforated PPA lens protects the dome and aligns the phase, while ferrofluid provides damping and cooling.
The 152 mm driver uses an ultra-high-excursion aluminium and magnesium cone, also fitted with a PPA lens. Its ART surround and the Advanced Shock-Mount system decouple it from the baffle so that vibrations are not passed on. The second-order crossover hands over to the tweeter at 1.6 kHz.
The faceted cabinet is reinforced inside with Cascade-Fusion bracing, which stiffens the walls and breaks up standing waves. The Founder Series is designed, engineered and built near Toronto, Canada. Walnut and Black Walnut have a satin finish, while Midnight Cherry and Piano Black are hand-rubbed high gloss.
The bass-reflex enclosure reaches down to 41 Hz to the DIN standard, with a response from 69 Hz to 23 kHz within ± 2 dB on-axis. The dual binding posts allow bi-wiring or bi-amping, and the recommended amplifier power is 15 to 150 W. The speaker is sold individually, stands 36.8 cm tall and weighs 11.3 kg.
