The 25 mm tweeter of the Premier 120B v2 uses an AL-MAC dome, a light and rigid blend of aluminium, magnesium and ceramic that resists resonance. Its OSW waveguide focuses sound on the listening area and reduces reflections from walls and ceiling. The PPA lens in front of the dome aligns the phase so that all frequencies reach the ear at the same time.
The 140 mm ultra-high-excursion driver pairs an AL-MAG cone in aluminium and magnesium with its own PPA lens. Gen3 Active Ridge Technology and the Vertical Mounting System keep its movement under control at high levels. Its 1-inch multi-layer voice coil, wound on a ventilated Apical former, withstands high temperatures.
The bass-reflex cabinet measures 30.5 cm high, 17.8 cm wide and 30.7 cm deep including the grille, and weighs 7.4 kg. Frequency response runs from 62 Hz to 23 kHz at ±3 dB on axis, with low-frequency extension down to 39 Hz (DIN). With a room sensitivity of 90 dB, it suits amplifiers from 15 to 130 W that are compatible with 8 ohms. It is sold individually, so a stereo pair needs two.
The Premier 120B v2 comes in lacquered Piano Black, Black Walnut, Walnut and Satin White. Within the Premier v2 series, Satin White is reserved for the 120B and the 520LCR. Every MDF cabinet is internally braced to stay acoustically inert. The series is designed and engineered by Paradigm in Canada.
