The Gold 100 6G is a sizeable stand-mount speaker: 447.7 x 230 x 357.3 mm and 14 kg each. It splits the signal three ways, with a dedicated midrange between bass and treble. A rigid stand suits it better than a shelf. Three finishes are listed: High Gloss Black, Satin White and Macassar.
The 3-inch midrange uses an HDT C-CAM cone, like the 8-inch (203 mm) woofer. The crossover splits them at 700 Hz. Above 2.6 kHz the MPD III tweeter takes over, and response extends to 60 kHz.
The HiVe II port is tuned to 38 Hz. Free-field, response reaches down to 49 Hz at -6 dB; in a room it gets to 32 Hz. Maximum peak SPL is 119 dB.
Nominal impedance is 4 ohms, with a minimum of 3.9 ohms at 140 Hz. At 86.5 dB sensitivity, the speaker wants an amplifier comfortable with that load. Monitor Audio recommends 130 to 500 W.
