The Silver 100 8G splits the spectrum across three drivers: an 8-inch C-CAM bass driver, a 3-inch C-CAM midrange driver and a 25 mm C-CAM Gold Dome tweeter. Crossover points sit at 610 Hz and 2.9 kHz. With a dedicated midrange, the bass driver no longer covers the vocal band above 610 Hz.
In-room response extends from 33 Hz to 35 kHz at -6 dB. The Silent Flow port is tuned to 37 Hz, 15 Hz lower than on the Silver 50 8G. Its profile smooths airflow and reduces distortion.
Through-bolts tie the drivers to the cabinet and damp its resonances. The speaker measures 440 x 230 x 354 mm (H x W x D) and weighs 12.1 kg. Finishes are High Gloss Black, Satin White and European Walnut.
Peak level reaches 114 dB and continuous power handling is 200 W. Sensitivity is 87 dB for 2.83 V at one metre, nominal impedance 8 ohms, with a dip to 3.7 ohms around 140 Hz. Monitor Audio recommends an amplifier of 50 to 200 W into 8 ohms.
