The Wharfedale DIAMOND 12.0i is a 2-way bass-reflex bookshelf speaker with a 4-inch bass driver and a 25 mm fabric dome tweeter. It covers 70 Hz to 20 kHz (±3 dB) and is sold individually.
The 25 mm woven polyester dome tweeter has a high-loss coating for extended, smooth treble. Its flat faceplate widens dispersion. The handover to the 4-inch (100 mm) bass driver is at 2.7 kHz.
The 100 mm cone is made of Klarity, polypropylene and mica. It stays light, stiff and well damped. The voice coil is wound on an epoxy and fibreglass former, and an aluminium ring compensates for changes in inductance.
The circular port tunes a 4.4 L cabinet, with bass extension to 65 Hz (-6 dB). Sensitivity is 87 dB (2.83 V, 1 m); impedance is 8 Ω compatible, with a minimum of 4.0 Ω. An amplifier rated 20 to 60 W is enough.
The cabinet measures 265 × 160 mm on the front, 228 mm deep with terminals, and weighs 5.1 kg. It comes in all-black, stone grey and classic walnut with a black baffle. The multilayer sandwich walls limit its resonance.
