The Wharfedale DIAMOND 12.2i is a 2-way bass-reflex bookshelf speaker with a 6.5-inch bass driver and a 25 mm fabric dome tweeter. It covers 50 Hz to 20 kHz (±3 dB) and is sold individually.
The 25 mm tweeter uses a woven polyester dome with a high-loss coating. Its flat faceplate and discreet waveguide widen dispersion. It takes over at 2.0 kHz, above a 6.5-inch (150 mm) bass driver.
The 150 mm cone is made of Klarity, a mica-filled polypropylene. Its low-damping surround lets it move freely, and an aluminium ring compensates for changes in voice coil inductance. Response spans 50 Hz to 20 kHz (±3 dB), with 43 Hz at -6 dB.
A circular port tunes the 11.8 L cabinet, and a pair of terminals takes the speaker cable. Sensitivity is 88 dB (2.83 V, 1 m); impedance is 8 Ω compatible, with a minimum of 4.0 Ω. An amplifier rated 20 to 120 W is suitable.
The all-black finish is semi-matt, stone grey stays contemporary, and classic walnut comes with a semi-matt black baffle. The multilayer sandwich walls limit cabinet resonance. Each speaker measures 335 × 200 mm on the front and weighs 8.2 kg.
