The Wharfedale EVO 5.1 is a two-way bass-reflex bookshelf speaker with a 5-inch bass driver and an AMT tweeter. It covers 56 Hz to 24 kHz (±3 dB) and is sold individually.
The EVO 5.1 combines a 5-inch (130 mm) woven black Kevlar bass driver with a 35 × 70 mm AMT tweeter in an 11.5-litre cabinet. The crossover point is 2.7 kHz. Response spans 56 Hz to 24 kHz (±3 dB), with bass extension to 46 Hz at -6 dB. It comes in black, white, grey and walnut.
The 35 × 70 mm AMT tweeter drives a pleated diaphragm between two magnets, instead of a dome. An absorbent material, Silentweave, lines the cavity behind the diaphragm. The ResoFrame elastomer frame, visible around the driver, damps resonances.
Wharfedale offers optional EVO 5.1 Stands, 633 mm high. Their 220 × 285 mm top plate matches the footprint of the speaker. The three-way SLPP slot port releases air from the bass driver through the base.
Nominal impedance is 4 Ω, 8 Ω compatible, with a minimum of 3.4 Ω. Sensitivity reaches 87 dB (2.83 V, 1 m) and peak level 98 dB. Choose an amplifier rated 25 to 100 W. The speaker is 340 mm high and weighs 8 kg.
