The Wharfedale LINTON is a three-way bass-reflex bookshelf speaker with a 200 mm woofer and a 135 mm midrange driver, both in Kevlar. It covers 40 Hz to 20 kHz (±3 dB) and is sold individually.
The LINTON follows the principle of the 1965 model, a cabinet wide enough to house three drivers. Its wood veneer gives it a period look. It measures 565 mm high including its base, 300 mm wide and 360 mm deep including the terminals.
The cabinet comes in Black Oak, Walnut Veneer and Mahogany Red. The veneers are matched by hand. The optional LINTON Stand has the same finish.
The 200 mm (8 inch) woofer sits on a die-cast chassis. The 135 mm (5 inch) midrange driver has its own internal chamber. Both have a black woven Kevlar cone, and the 25 mm soft-dome tweeter completes the treble range. The crossover points are 630 Hz and 2.4 kHz.
The back of the cabinet has two round ports and the binding posts. Response extends from 40 Hz to 20 kHz (±3 dB), with bass extension down to 35 Hz at -6 dB. Nominal impedance is 6 Ω, with a minimum of 3.5 Ω, for a sensitivity of 90 dB (2.0 V, 1 m). The recommended amplifier delivers 25 to 200 W, for a peak level of 110 dB.
