The Wharfedale SUPER LINTON is a three-way bass-reflex bookshelf speaker with a 200 mm woofer and a 135 mm midrange driver, both in Kevlar. It covers 39 Hz to 20 kHz (±3 dB) and is sold individually.
The cabinet stacks two layers of MDF, bonded with an acoustic damping adhesive. This construction reduces wall resonance. The stated cabinet volumes are 6.6 L and 33.4 L. The SUPER LINTON comes in Walnut, Black oak and Mahogany.
The SUPER LINTON sits on the LINTON Stand, sold separately. It keeps the same footprint as the LINTON model. The space in the stand is sized for 12-inch vinyl records.
The 200 mm (8 inch) woofer and the 135 mm (5 inch) midrange driver each have a black woven Kevlar cone. The 25 mm soft-dome tweeter takes over in the treble. The crossover points are 550 Hz and 2.5 kHz. The crossover splits its components across two separate circuit boards to limit electromagnetic interference.
The back of the cabinet has two round ports and the binding posts. Response extends from 39 Hz to 20 kHz (±3 dB), with bass extension down to 32 Hz at -6 dB. Nominal impedance is 6 Ω, compatible with 8 Ω, for a sensitivity of 90 dB (2.83 V, 1 m). The recommended amplifier delivers 25 to 200 W, for a peak level of 110 dB.
