The Wharfedale ELYSIAN 1R is a two-way bass-reflex bookshelf speaker with a 7-inch mid-woofer and an AMT tweeter. It covers 49 Hz to 22 kHz (±3 dB) and is sold individually.
The ELYSIAN 1R is the most compact speaker in the ELYSIAN R series. Its 21.6 L bass-reflex cabinet stands 49 cm tall on its base and is 26.3 cm wide. Each speaker weighs 15 kg. Wharfedale also intends it for the surround channels of an ELYSIAN system.
The 27 × 90 mm AMT tweeter takes over from 2.6 kHz, the only crossover point of this two-way design. The response extends up to 22 kHz (±3 dB). The speaker comes in black, grey and light walnut.
A single 7-inch (180 mm) driver covers the bass and the midrange, with a coated glass-fibre matrix cone. The response goes down to 49 Hz (±3 dB), with an extension of 44 Hz at -6 dB. A dedicated stand, the ELYSIAN 1R Stands, is available for this speaker.
The nominal impedance of 4 Ω, compatible with 8 Ω, drops to a minimum of 3.8 Ω. Sensitivity reaches 89 dB (2.83 V, 1 m). Drive the speaker with an amplifier rated 25 to 175 W, for a peak level of 108 dB. The connection terminals are on the back of the cabinet.
