The Wharfedale ELYSIAN 2R is a three-way bass-reflex bookshelf speaker with an 8.5-inch woofer, a 6-inch midrange driver and an AMT tweeter. It covers 35 Hz to 22 kHz (±3 dB) and is sold individually.
Three drivers stacked on the front share the spectrum: an 8.5-inch woofer, a 6-inch midrange driver and a 27 × 90 mm AMT tweeter. The crossover points fall at 360 Hz and 2.9 kHz. The response extends from 35 Hz to 22 kHz (±3 dB), with bass extension of 28 Hz at -6 dB. The speaker comes in black, grey and light walnut.
The 8.5-inch (220 mm) woofer and the 6-inch (150 mm) midrange driver each use a coated glass-fibre matrix cone. The bass-reflex cabinet has quoted volumes of 17.5 L and 43.6 L. It measures 700 × 334 mm on its base and weighs 30.5 kg.
The AMT tweeter sits at the top of the front baffle, above the midrange driver. It takes over from 2.9 kHz, the crossover point with the midrange driver. The connection terminals are on the back of the cabinet.
The nominal impedance is 4 Ω, compatible with 8 Ω, with a minimum of 3.6 Ω. Sensitivity reaches 89 dB (2.83 V, 1 m). Drive the speaker with an amplifier rated 25 to 250 W, for a peak level of 109 dB.
