A&ultima flagship

The SP4000 is the high-end player in Astell&Kern's A&ultima series. Its chassis is machined from 904L stainless steel, a metal valued for its density and its resistance. It carries a 6-inch 2160 × 1080 touchscreen and runs on Android, combining a local library with streaming services.

Real Quad DAC AKM

The SP4000 lines up four AKM AK4499EX converters backed by four AK4191EQ modulators, a Real Quad DAC architecture. An octa-core processor drives the whole. It reads PCM files up to 768 kHz / 32 bit as well as native DSD, in bit-for-bit playback.

The player offers a 3.5 mm unbalanced output that doubles as an optical output, and a 4.4 mm balanced output, with levels of 4.1 and 8.2 Vrms. On the wireless side, it handles dual-band Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 5.0 with the aptX HD, LDAC and LHDC codecs.
