The PM6007 delivers 2 x 45 W into 8 ohms from 20 Hz to 20 kHz, and 60 W into 4 ohms. Its current-feedback amplifier is built on Marantz HDAM-SA3 and SA2 modules, fed by a toroidal transformer and a linear power supply. Response extends from 10 Hz to 70 kHz, with 0.08% harmonic distortion.
The AKM AK4490 converter handles digital sources up to 192 kHz / 24-bit, with Marantz Musical Digital Filtering. Two optical inputs and one coaxial input take the TV, a network player or a games console. Volume runs through a linear control, and Source Direct mode bypasses the tone controls.
Five analogue inputs on gold-plated sockets, including an MM phono input, take the analogue sources. Signal-to-noise reaches 83 dB on phono and 102 dB on the high-level inputs. A subwoofer output, a headphone output and gold-plated A/B screw terminals for two pairs of speakers complete the set.
The metal front panel groups the bass, treble and balance controls with the Source Direct button. The chassis measures 440 mm wide, 370 mm deep and 105 mm high, weighs 7.6 kg and draws 155 W, or 0.3 W in standby. The RC004MCD remote also controls a Marantz CD player, and the unit comes in Black and Silver Gold.
