Correcting the DC component

The DC Block removes the DC component that unbalances the mains sine wave. That asymmetry saturates toroidal transformers and causes mechanical hum. The unit restores a symmetrical waveform at the input of the connected component.

How mains interference is filtered

Audio-class mains filter

A filter circuit treats radio-frequency and electromagnetic interference on the supply. Differential-mode and common-mode noise are attenuated separately. The noise floor of the powered component drops.

IEC inlet and outlet of the DC Block

Load and protection

The IEC inlet and outlet take a maximum load of 8 A. Overload protection steps in if the limit is exceeded. The universal supply accepts 100 to 240 V, at 50 or 60 Hz.

Small footprint of the DC Block case

Compact format

The case measures 113 x 59 x 140 mm and weighs 700 grams. It sits behind the component it treats without taking up shelf space. Two finishes are offered, black and silver.
